Memory Monday

I was convicted from reading another blog about my scripture memorization. I know that I can remember all kinds of songs from my Ipod but how much to covet God's word? My aim is to memorize one verse per week, which I am sure that I could do more but I really want to accomplish this.

So as a way to keep me accountable I will start Memory Monday and post one verse here and maybe others can memorize it with me!

This week's verse is Colossians 4:5-6

"Walk in wisdom towards outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."

Bathroom Remodel

We are very blessed to rent a house from a family in the church. Joe has lived in the house since he moved to North Vernon, and now that I am there, we are slowly starting to do some things to the house. One of the first rooms we tackled was the bathroom. It was very white and plain with a bathroom mirror that was so high that I could not see myself. We were fortunate that most of the bathroom was outfitted with wedding gifts or I used a couple of gift cards for the Roman Shade on the window and some little odds and ends. (On a side note, there is a toilet to the left but I did not think anyone wanted to see a toilet.) I thought I should share what we have done! I wish I had taken pictures of the bathroom before.

Next I will show pictures of the bedroom!

Wedding

I just returned from my cousin's wedding in Indianapolis. It was a beautiful wedding in the bride's backyard. It had a garden feel to it and it turned out lovely. Another interesting part of the evening was meeting Eric Stromer from Clean Sweep on TLC and a show on HGTV. He was very friendly and nice to us but my mom made me go with her to meet him and I was embarrassed.

Tomorrow my parents are driving down from Indy to go to our church here and I will try and convince my dad to do some little projects here while we have him! :)

Aren't we cute!

And with my sneaky camera skills a picture of Eric Stromer...hehe

A New Life

I decided that it was time to leave my old blog. It was nice during college but starting a new life I wanted a new blog. Joe and I are enjoying marriage and figuring how to blend two lives and perspectives together. We have been doing some decorating and painting of the house and getting me all moved in. I start my new job on Tuesday at Columbus Pediatrics as a RN. Because of the flooding at Columbus Regional, I was unable to start my job. But through a connection at church I now have a new job!

So this will be a place for stories and pictures and adventures for all.

About Living Joyfully

Welcome to Living Joyfully! This blog is meant to glorify God and tell a little more about me.

My name is Alison. I'm so glad you have visited!

I am the wife of Joe, a senior pastor in North Vernon, IN. I am also a Registered Nurse and work at a Pediatrician's office. I am also a mom to two cocker spaniels who you will hear lots about and new kitten named Levi.

My greatest desire to grow more like Christ. I fail everyday at this but Christ is so patient with me. I really enjoy knitting and crocheting, reading, naps with my Husband, walking my dogs, and spending time with God and His people.

Why Living Joyfully?
I created this blog to first inform our family friends about our life and ministry. I also hope it can be an encouragement to those who read. I don't claim to understand it all but I do know that Jesus Christ has given me a new life, a hope, and a reason to be joyful!
